Michelle Lynn is an American photographer living in Phoenix. Her work varies massively, from landscapes to self portraits, double exposures, candid, colour and black and white. She does not have one specific style. However, it is her back and white domestic portraits that I am interested in. Lynn has a large collection of work that captures a girl in a domestic environment going through all kinds of emotions.
It is the way that these images are taken in domestic environment that inspires me to create work similar to this. I like the way that it is personal to the girl in the image and it is a place where she can express her emotions. I am also interested in the way that emotions are portrayed through the body language of the model and the atmosphere this creates in the image. The dark black and white tones also contribute to this. These images have really given me ideas and inspiration on how to shoot my own portraits.
